The fire engineer earns between 48,307 and 62,265 per year. That's mean he earns between 4025 and 5188 dollar a month.

After the fire engineer there is the fire lieutenant who earns between 50,464 and 60,772 dollars a year that's mean he earns between 4205 and 5064 dollars a month.

The third one is the fire captain who earns between 60,605 and 72,716 dollars a year. He earns between 5050 and 6059 dollars a month.

The next higher firefighter salary is the assistant fire chief who earns between 65,691 and 83,748 dollars a year. And he earns between 5474 and 6979 dollars a month.

The next rank is battalion chief who earns between 66,851 and 81,710 a year. And he earns between 5570 and 6809 dollars a month.
The next higher firefighter salary is the deputy fire chiefs who earns between 69,166 and 88,571 dollars a year. And between 5763 and 7380 dollars a month. 

The highest paying in the firefighting career is the fire chief who earns between 78,672 and 104, 780 dollars a year. Between 6556 and 8731 dollars a month.

Firefighters have to be paid for additional work hours but this additional firefighter salary for the extra hours is only set by the fire department also it will determine the extra time which you will work.
